“My pet is fearful of other dogs or doesn’t always get along with them. How do you handle this?”

Every dog has a unique personality, temperament, and comfort level around other animals. Some are naturally social and outgoing, while others may be shy, fearful, protective, or simply prefer the company of people. At Law’s Country Kennel, we understand that not every dog wants—or needs—to socialize with other dogs to have a comfortable and enjoyable boarding experience.
Individual accommodations provide comfort and peace of mind.
Our spacious kennel runs feature separate indoor and outdoor living areas, allowing guests to enjoy their own space without direct physical contact with neighboring dogs. This provides a comfortable environment for pets who may be nervous, reactive, or less accustomed to being around other animals.
For dogs who prefer their own company, we can offer individual Yard Play and Nature Walk sessions, providing opportunities for exercise, enrichment, and personal attention from our team without requiring interaction with other boarding guests.
Socialization is approached carefully, patiently, and never forced.
For customers interested in helping their dogs become more comfortable around others, our experienced attendants may gradually introduce appropriate social opportunities when we believe it is safe to do so.
This process begins with getting to know your dog’s personality, behavior, and comfort level. Our team may spend additional one-on-one time building trust before considering an introduction to another compatible dog or a carefully selected small group.
When group interaction is appropriate, our attendants consider factors such as size, temperament, energy level, behavior, and compatibility. Introductions are supervised, and our team continues monitoring interactions to help maintain a safe and positive environment.
If a dog shows signs of discomfort, stress, or behavior that could put themselves or others at risk, we adjust the experience accordingly. Some dogs thrive in groups, others do best with one carefully selected companion, and some are happiest enjoying individual activities with our staff.
Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being will always take priority over socialization.
We encourage you to share any concerns, behavioral history, or previous experiences with other dogs when making your reservation. The more we know about your pet, the better we can prepare for their individual needs.
At Law’s Country Kennel, a successful stay isn’t measured by how many friends your dog makes, but by how safe, comfortable, and well cared for they feel while they’re with us.
